Images and activities related to the arts in the French class

Abstract:

The thesis explores the connection between art and French language instruction, specifically focusing on utilizing images and creative artistic activities in foreign language classes. It emphasizes that art presents a range of possibilities for foreign language teaching that are unfortunately often overlooked in practice. The thesis introduces images as a didactic tool that can be employed in various ways to cultivate students’ development, not only in terms of language skills. The first part of the thesis investigates the topic through professional literature and highlights the diverse advantages of such activities. The second part analyzes how art is nowadays integrated into French classes at Czech high schools using data from questionnaires. The third part examines the use of images and creative artistic activities in French textbooks. The fourth and final part of the thesis then provides a range of creative artistic activities that can be effectively implemented in French classes.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce propojuje umění s výukou francouzštiny. Konkrétněji se práce zabývá využitím obrazu a kreativních uměleckých aktivit v hodinách cizího jazyka. Práce poukazuje na to, že umění skýtá pro výuku cizího jazyka rozmanité možnosti, které jsou v praxi žel často opomenuty. Práce představuje obraz jako didaktický nástroj, který může být použit různými způsoby tak, aby rozvíjel žáka nejen po stránce jazykových dovedností. V první části práce zkoumá téma pomocí odborné literatury a poukazuje na nejrůznější přednosti takových aktivit. Pomocí dat z dotazníků práce v druhé časti analyzuje, jak se v dnešní době přistupuje k umění v hodinách francouzštiny na českých gymnáziích. V třetí části práce zkoumá využití obrazů a kreativních uměleckých aktivit v používaných učebnicích francouzštiny. Ve čtvrté a závěrečné části pak práce poskytuje tvořivé umělecké aktivity, které můžou být v hodinách francouzštiny efektivně použity.
