Analysis of PR methods and techniques in an environment of public organizations

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje oblasti public relations v prostředí státní organizace, a to s bezprostředním zaměřením na konkrétní metody a techniky public relations Ministerstva vnitra České republiky. Vzhledem k tomu, že tento obor se stal v posledních letech velmi módním, je i státní sféra nucena uchopit tuto oblast novým způsobem. Vysoce postavené státní organizace jsou jistě zvyklé komunikovat s veřejností již řadu let, avšak v současnosti začínají reagovat změny v této oblasti a zavádět proaktivní způsob public relations. Je však nutné podotknout, že odborníci PR musí respektovat nastavená pravidla, která jim určují nejen vydávané metodické příručky, ale i interní nařízení jednotlivých státních institucí. Cílem diplomové práce je analýza metod a technik public relations využívaných Ministerstvem vnitra České republiky, a to obzvláště pro dva vybrané projekty – projekt Czech POINT a projekt související se vstupem České republiky do Schengenského prostoru. Diplomová práce se dále zabývá identifikací všech činností a aktivit odboru tisku a public relations Ministerstva vnitra ČR, stejně tak jako jeho základním představením.

Abstract:

This thesis is devoted to public relations in an environment of government organizations with immediate focus on specific methods and techniques of public relations of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic. Given that the industry has become very fashionable in recent years and Civil service is impel to take this matter in a new way. High-ranking government organizations are certainly used to communicate with the public for many years but now they are starting to respond to changes in this area and are implementing a proactive way of public relations. However, it should be mentioned that PR professionals must observe rules which have been determine not only by published methodological guides but also by internal regulation of particular state institutions. The aim of the thesis is to analyze methods and techniques of public relations used by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic focusing mainly on two projects – project Czech POINT a project related with accession of the Czech Republic into the Schengen area. This thesis also deals with the identification of all activities of the Department of Press and Public Relations of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic as well as its basic performance.
