The bachelor thesis describes the German society in Nový Jičin in the years from 1914 to 1933 in terms of political, social and cultural life. The development of the German majority in this town is described in the context of the First World War, the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic and during the subsequent period of boom and bust.
