Transformation of the local society through mass tourism

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje tématu masové a turistické transformace a integrace a s nimi souvisejícími dopady, jež budou zkoumány na konkrétním příkladu obce Černá v Pošumaví. Obec prošla za poslední půl století mnoha změnami, které se odrazily především v sídelní struktuře obce a životě místních obyvatel. Předmětem mého zájmu jsou především změny způsobené proměnou původně agrárního charakteru obce na turisticky vyhledávanou oblast, které nastaly v 60. letech díky výstavbě přehradní nádrže Lipno a rozvinuly se do podoby masového turismu, jenž měl výrazný vliv na další vývoj obce. Mým cílem je zjistit, jak konkrétně turistická transformace mění obraz obce, život obyvatel v ní, a to jak z historické tak i z aktuální perspektivy. Hlavní snahou této práce je ukázat sdílené představy obyvatel Černé v Pošumaví o konkrétních změnách způsobených turistickou transformací, které se odrážejí v celkovém obrazu obce a života obyvatel, a přiblížit je tomu, jak jsou narátory reflektovány v současnosti. Dílčím úkolem je také přiblížit vztah místních obyvatel k turistům, který se v průběhu životního cyklu lokality měnil.

Abstract:

The main theme of the thesis is transformation of mass tourism and its consequences examined on the example of the village Černá v Pošumaví. Many various changes have taken place in the village during the last fifty years. Most of them could be seen through the residence structure of the village and through its residents´ lifestyle. The main aim of the research is to map changes caused by the development of village from agrarian-based character to tourism-based character of the place. These changes started in 1960s, along with construction project of the Lipno reservoir and, consequently, they have transformed the character of the area into the mass-touristic, which crucially affected next development of the village. The main aim of the thesis is to show collective notion shared among residents of the village Černá v Pošumaví of concrete changes coming from touristic transformation and integration of the area and how those changes are reflected in the village in general and in the residents´ everyday life.
