Obesity and its solution through the eyes of seniors

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku nadváhy a obezity u starší populace. Teoretická část popisuje problematiku nadváhy a obezity obecně, její příčiny a dopady na život jednotlivce i společnosti a ukazuje na možnosti řešení nadváhy a obezity v obecné rovině. Empirická část zkoumá a porovnává míru znalostí seniorské populace v oblasti pojmů, souvisejících s nadváhou a obezitou a zkoumá názory této populace na její řešení. Analýza a interpretace získaných dat poskytuje zároveň informace týkající se znalostí starších lidí a seniorů o možnostech chirurgického způsobu řešení obezity.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis focuses on the issue of overweight and obesity in the elderly population. The theoretical part describes the problem of overweight and obesity in general, its causes and impact on the lives of individuals and society and points to possible solutions of overweight and obesity in general. The empirical section examines and compares the degree of knowledge of the senior population in terms associated with overweight and obesity and the views of the population on its solution. Analysis and interpretation of the data also provides information on the knowledge of older people and older people about the possibilities of surgical solutions to obesity.
