Sightseeing tour: The Northern Ireland Troubles

Abstract:

Aim of this work is to create itinerary for sightseeing tour of Northern Ireland Troubles and supplying basic information about the roots, beginning and developments of this conflict. It concentrates on two key cities, where most of the main events of the Troubles took place. These cities are Derry and Belfast. The trip is planned for four days, two days for each of the cities. In both cities, the most interesting sights and places have been selected, which are either directly or indirectly connected with the events of the Troubles. This work not only describes these places but also explains the roots of the conflict and its course from the beginning in 1968 until recent development.

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá vytvořením itineráře pro poznávací cestu po stopách konfliktu v Severním Irsku a poskytnutím základních informací o původu, vzniku a vývoji tohoto konfliktu. Soustředí se na dvě klíčová města, ve kterých se odehrála většina hlavních událostí. Jsou jimi Derry a Belfast. Cesta je naplánována na dobu čtyř dnů, dva dny na každé město. V každém z těchto měst byly vybrány ty nejzajímavější památky a místa, ať už přímo či nepřímo spojených s událostmi konfliktu, a s poznáváním těchto míst zároveň vysvětluje příčiny vzniku konfliktu a popisuje jeho průběh od roku 1968 až po rok 2008.
