Geometric shapes in teaching science in the 1st and the 2nd grade at primary school

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Geometrické tvary ve výuce prvouky v 1. a 2. ročníku základní školy se zaměřuje na integraci získaných poznatků z oblasti geometrie v úlohách s environmentální tématikou. Cílem uvedené práce je vytvoření didaktického souboru učebních úloh v rámci jednotlivých vzdělávacích tematických okruhů prvouky s využitím poznatků elementární geometrie a jeho ověření v praxi. Teoretická část je zaměřena na vymezení pojmu geometrie, vzdělávací oblasti Matematika a její aplikace a Člověk a jeho svět v kurikulárních dokumentech. Dále je věnována pozornost geometrickým pojmům v úlohách s environmentální tematikou. V empirické části je předložen autorský didaktický materiál zaměřený na integraci geometrie do prvouky v 1. a 2. ročníku základní školy pomocí využití různých výukových strategií i jejich ověření metodou pozorování, rozhovoru a studiu produktů žáka. V závěru jsou shrnuty a interpretovány získané poznatky.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis titled Geometric Shapes in the Teaching of the Primary Science in 1st and 2nd Year of Primary School focuses on the integration of acquired knowledge from the field of geometry in tasks with environmental themes. The aim of the thesis is to create a didactic set of teaching tasks within individual educational themes of the Primary Science using the knowledge of elementary geometry and its verification in practice. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of the term Geometry, the educational field of Mathematics and its application, and Man and His World in curriculum documents. Attention is also paid to geometric terms in tasks with environmental issues. In the empirical part there is presented authorial didactical material focused on the integration of geometry into the Primary Science of the 1st and 2nd year of primary school using different educational strategies and its verification in practice by the method of observation, interviewing and study of student´s products. The acquired knowledge is summarized and interpreted in the final section of the thesis.
