The Art of Mapuche

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na dokumentaci a propagaci umění Mapučů, jedné z největších domorodých komunit v Chile. Mapučové jsou známí svým bohatým kulturním dědictvím a jedinečnými uměleckými projevy, které odrážejí jejich víru, zvyky a historii. Cílem práce je prozkoumat různé formy umění Mapučů, jako je textil, keramika, malířství a analyzovat techniky, motivy a významy, které se skrývají za jednotlivými uměleckými formami. V praktické části využívám poznatky získané studiem literatury, vztahující se nejen k mapučskému umění, ale i jejich kultuře, k vytvoření abstraktních maleb.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the documentation and promotion of the art of Mapuche, one of the largest indigenous communities in Chile. The Mapuches are known for their rich cultural heritage and unique artistic expressions that reflect their beliefs, customs, and history. The aim of this thesis is to explore the different art forms of the Mapuche people, such as textiles, ceramics and painting, and to analyze the techniques, motifs, and meanings behind each art form. In the practical part, I use the knowledge gained from the study of literature related not only to the art of Mapuche but also to their culture to create abstract paintings.
