Abstract:

Disertační práce Divadlo actor-specific: Downův syndrom jako divadelní stylizace odkazuje svým názvem na jeden z možných způsobů práce s herci s Downovým syndromem: Downův syndrom nevnímá jako handicap, ale jako divadelní potenciál, z něhož je třeba vycházet, jako by to byla daná divadelní stylizace. Termín actor-specific je pak obdobou divadla site-specific, které se inspiruje specifickým (původně nedivadelním) prostorem. Divadlo actor-specific může být v širším pojetí divadlem s herci s jakoukoli jinakostí; disertační práce ho však používá v užším pojetí jako divadlo herců s mentálním postižením či s poruchou autistického spektra, přičemž většina textu se týká herců s Downovým syndromem. Práce je rozdělena do dvou celků: první část je teoretická. Reflektuje vztah společnosti k lidem s postižením, a to zejména z pohledu divadla: jak ovlivňuje smýšlení společnosti divadelní zprávu divadla actor-specific. V první části jsou dále představena divadla tohoto typu v ČR i v zahraničí včetně jejich základních ideových východisek. Druhá část se zabývá samotným výzkumem, jenž byl realizován formou artistic research: na příkladu čtyř inscenací Divadla Aldente, u nichž je doktorandka současně režisérkou a autorkou scénáře, a na základě dvou výzkumných pobytů v zahraničních divadlech actor-specific, odkrývá potenciál tohoto typu divadla, nachází vhodné divadelní prostředky, jež je možno u divadla actor-specific použít, a vysvětluje vznik výsledné divadelní zprávy.

Abstract:

The title of this dissertation, Theatre Actor-specific: Down Syndrome as a Theatre Stylization, refers to one of the possible ways of working with actors with Down syndrome. It does not perceive Down syndrome as a disability; it instead sees it as full of theatrical potential, which should be used as a given theatrical stylization. The term actor-specific presents a parallel to the site-specific theatre inspired by the specific (originally nontheatrical) space. Even though theatre actor-specific might describe theatre employing actors with any otherness, the presented dissertation uses the term for theatre of actors with mental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders. The main focus of the thesis is on actors with Down syndrome. The study is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical, reflecting the attitude of society to people with disabilities. This reflection is paying attention especially to theatre – how the opinions of the society influence the message of actor-specific theatre. In addition to this, the first part also introduces actor-specific theatres in the Czech Republic and abroad, together with their basic ideology. The second part consists of artistic research – using the examples of four productions by Divadlo Aldente (Theatre Aldente), which the PhD candidate directed and also written, and experience from the two research stays in actor-specific theatres abroad, the author demonstrates the potential of such theatre, looks for suitable theatrical tools and explains the genesis of the theatre’s message.
