Application of Competitive Intelligence for business support

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá využitím Competitive Intelligence v podnicích a návrhem systému CI pro zvýšení konkurenceschopnosti ve vybrané společnosti. Společnost, na které jsem se rozhodl metodiky Competitive Intelligence aplikovat, se zabývá dodavatelstvím pro automobilový průmysl a vývojem pokročilých asistenčních systémů do aut. Práce má několik cílů. Dílčími cíli je charakterizovat, rozdělit a obecně popsat Competitive Intelligence. Dále analyzovat hlavní konkurenci a zmapovat podnikatelské prostředí. Za pomoci myšlenkové mapy stanovit KIT, KIQ a k nim najít uspokojivé odpovědi. Hlavním cílem práce je analyzovat nástroje a zdroje informací pro monitorování a vyhledávání informací a navrhnout řešení toho, jak má být CI ve společnost zavedeno, a jaké nástroje mají být za účelem zvýšení konkurenceschopnosti firmy pravidelně monitorovány.Práce obsahuje dvanáct kapitol. Prvních šest je teoretických. Zabývám se zde Competitive Intelligence jako vědní disciplínou, analýzou dat a zpravodajským cyklem. Zbývajících šest kapitol má praktičtější ráz, zde se zabývám představením firmy Valeo, pro kterou řešení navrhuji. Dále charakteristikou podnikatelského prostředí, analýzou konkurence v odvětví a formulací KIT a KIQ. Nakonec se zabývám výběrem vhodných nástrojů pro CI a návrhem řešení, které firmě získá dostatek informací pro budoucí strategické rozhodování.Hlavním přínosem práce je, že dle navrženého řešení získá firma množství kvalitních dat o konkurenci a aktuálních trendech. Na základě těchto informací umožní předčasně rozpoznat příležitosti, potenciální hrozby, na které bude moci včas adekvátně zareagovat.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with application of Competitive Intelligence in companies and design of CI system for enlargement of competitive ability in selected company. Company to which I have decided to apply the Competitive Intelligence methodology is concerning with supplying for the automotive industry and development of advanced driver assistance systems. Thesis has several objectives. Partial goals are characterizing, dividing and explaining of term Competitive Intelligence. Then analysing of main competitors and mapping of the business environment. Another partial goal is determining KIT, KIQ by means of mindmaps and find satisfactory answers for them. Main goal od this theses is analysing of tools and information sources for monitoring and searching of information and propose solution of how should be CI implemented in company and what tools should be monitored regularly for purpose of enlarging company competitiveness.The thesis contains of twelve chapters. First six chapters are theoretical. I deal here with Competitive Intelligence as scientific field, I also deal with data analysing and Intelligence cycle. Remaining six chapters are practical. In this part I am introducing company Valeo for which I propose the solution, then I characterize the business environment. I concern with analysis of biggest competition in business and I focus on formulation of KIT and KIQ. At the end I deal with choosing of suitable tools for CI and designing of solution which can bring enough information for company strategic decision making.Main benefit of this theses is that company can get a lot of quality data about competition and actual trends by means of this solution. Based on this intelligence company can identify opportunities and potential threads and can react correspondingly in time.
