Study on Biopolymer Carriers for the Release of Bioactive Organic Compounds

Abstract:

Teoretická část předložené diplomové práce se zaměřuje na typy nosičů aktivních látek, charakteristiku vybraných biopolymerů, vhodných pro jejich přípravu, a také klasifikaci bioaktivních látek. V závěru teoretické části jsou shrnuty faktory, které mají vliv na kinetiku uvolňování aktivních molekul z nosných systémů. Praktická část se věnuje přípravě a charakterizaci biopolymerních chitosanových filmů s inkorporovanými bioaktivními látkami, konkrétně kurkuminem a thymolem. U vzorků byly sledovány mechanické, povrchové, strukturní a antibakteriální vlastnosti. Stěžejní část se zabývá studiem faktorů, které uvolňování vybraných fenolických sloučenin ovlivňují, jako je teplota, pH a složení systému.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of the submitted diploma thesis focuses on the types of active substance carriers, the characteristics of selected biopolymers suitable for their preparation, as well as the classification of bioactive substances. At the end of the theoretical part, the factors that affect the release kinetics of active molecules from carrier systems are summarized. The practical part deals with the preparation and characterization of biopolymer chitosan films with incorporated bioactive substances, specifically curcumin and thymol. The mechanical, surface, structural and antibacterial properties of the samples were monitored. The main part deals with the study of factors that affect the release of selected phenolic compounds, such as temperature, pH and system composition.
