The influence of age and anthropometric parameters on the speed of correction of lower limbs deformities using eight-figure plate system

Abstract:

Předkládaná disertační práce se zabývá detailní analýzou terapie osových deformit dolních končetin u dětských pacientů ve smyslu idiopatických genua valga za použití systému tzv. osmičkových dlah. V první části byla hodnocena celková efektivita a úspěšnost léčby při provedení temporerní hemiepifyzeodézy použitím zmíněného implantátu. Ve druhé části jsme detailně analyzovali různé potenciální faktory, které mohou mít vliv na úspěšnost terapie a statistickou analýzou jsme stanovili ty, které se signifikantně podílejí na rychlosti korekce deformit. Třetí část analyzuje námi stanovenou proměnnou, tzv. kondylární poměr, který by mohl být využíván v průběhu sledování léčby. Výsledky práce jsou vhodné k implementaci do klinické praxe při použití systému osmičkových dlah při korekci osových deformit dolních končetin.

Abstract:

The presented dissertation deals with a detailed analysis of the therapy of axial deformities of the lower limbs in paediatric patients in terms of idiopathic genua valga using the so-called eight-figure plates system. In the first part of the study, the overall effectiveness and success of the treatment during temporary hemiepiphysiodesis using the mentioned implant was evaluated. In the second part, we analyse various potential factors that can influence the success of the therapy in details and, through statistical analysis, determined those that significantly contribute to the speed of deformity correction. The third part analyses the variable determined by us, the so-called condylar ratio, which could be used during treatment monitoring. The results of the work are suitable for implementation in clinical practice when using the eight-figure plate system in the correction of axial deformities of the lower limbs.
