The goal of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the role played by the navy during the American Civil War. The thesis will introduce contemporary conventional ships as well as new types of ships and craft. It will also focus on the potential of the naval forces of both sides, traditional ways of fighting, the impact of the navy on the development of the conflict and the morale of the Union and the Confederacy …more

Cílem bakalářské práce je analyzovat roli, jakou v průběhu Občanské války sehrálo námořnictvo. Práce představí soudobé konvenční lodě i nové typy lodí a plavidel, zaměří se na potenciál námořních sil obou bojujících stran, tradiční způsoby boje a v neposlední řadě také na vliv námořnictva na vývoj konfliktu i na morálku Unie a Konfederace.
