Creative industries in the Moravian-Silesian Region in a spatial perspective

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá prostorovou distribucí kreativních odvětví v rámci Moravskoslezského kraje, primárně na úrovni správních obvodů obcí s rozšířenou působností. Data za zaměstnanost a rozmístění jsou aktuální pro rok 2024, čemuž odpovídá také aktuálnost vzorku subjektů spadajících do kreativních odvětví. Rozmístění subjektů bylo určeno pomocí metody atributového joinu a byly zjišťovány jejich prostorové preference. Bylo zjištěno, že sledované subjekty mají tendenci k shlukování uvnitř správních měst jednotlivých mikroregionů, přičemž hustota této koncentrace odpovídá především jejich populační velikosti. Ekonomická výkonost a mikroregionální kontext hraje vedlejší roli a pomáhá spíše k vysvětlení výsledků, které se vychylují od populační velikosti, a to na úrovni kreativních firem. Dále bylo zjištěno, že struktury starého průmyslového regionu fungují jako výrazná bariéra pro dynamický rozvoj kreativních odvětví v kraji.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the spatial distribution of creative industries within the Moravian-Silesian Region, primarily at the level of administrative districts of municipalities with extended jurisdiction. Data for employment and distribution are up-to-date for 2024, which corresponds to the up-to-dateness of the sample of subjects belonging to creative industries. The distribution of the subjects was determined using the attribute join method and spatial preferences were determined. It was found that the monitored subjects tend to cluster within the administrative cities of individual micro-regions, while the density of this concentration mainly corresponds to their population size. Economic performance and micro-regional context plays a secondary role and helps to explain the results that deviate from population size, at the level of creative firms. Furthermore, it was found that the structures of the old industrial region act as a significant barrier for the dynamic development of creative industries in the region.
