Tato Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na význam a přínos špionážní sítě Culperův kruh vedenou Benjaminem Tallmadgem, která operovala na Long Islandu během Americké války za nezávislost v letech 1778 až 1783. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí. První část je věnována vývoji, taktikám, jednotlivým členům, a operacím spojených s Culperovým kruhem špiónů. Druhá část práce se zaměřuje na analýzu vývoji Culperova kruhu a jeho vlivu na snahy Kontinentální armády a jeho dopadu na nově vytvořenou republiku. Práce je založena na výzkumu korespondence mezi Georgem Washingtonem a Culperovým kruhem, ale také na dostupných sekundárních zdrojích. Cílem práce je odhalit význam Culperova kruhu jakožto průkopnického elementu ve vývoji špionáže a inovativních válečných taktik ve Spojených státech.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the importance and contribution of the Culper Ring espionage network led by Benjamin Tallmadge, which operated on Long Island during the American Revolutionary War from 1778 to 1783. The thesis is divided into two main sections. The first part is devoted to the development, tactics, individual members, and operations of the Culper Ring. The second part deals with the analysis of the Culper Ring and its influence on the Continental Army war efforts and its impact on the newly created republic. The thesis is based on research of correspondence between George Washington and the Culper Ring as well as available secondary sources. The thesis aims to analyze the objectives and tactics of the Culper Ring as well as to determine its impact on the republic. The thesis aims to reveal the significance of the Culper Ring as a pioneering element in the development of espionage and innovative warfare tactics in the United States.
