Churches and religious societies in the Czech Republic as a political actor at the local level.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá rolí církví a náboženských společností v ČR jakožto politického aktéra na lokální úrovni. Jedná se o vztah náboženských společností a státu, jejich proměny a vliv na komunitní život v obci Písek. Ve vybrané oblasti Písecko – Jihočeský kraj byla zvolena instituce Římskokatolická farnost, která bude předmětem výzkumu. Práce se soustředí na vztahy státu a církvi (náboženských společností) primárně po roce 1989. Práce je rozdělena do sedmi kapitol. V první části jsou stanovené obecné předpoklady hodnotící náboženství jako takové, vztah k náboženství v ČR, a posléze vztah a působnost náboženství ve vybraném regionu. Využity byly prameny takových autorů jako je Émile Durkheim, Johann B. Metz a Zdeněk R. Nešpor a další. Důležitou částí práce jsou také rozhovory s osobami, které do této problematiky nějakým způsobem zasahují či vzhledem ke svému zaměstnání, pozici ve městě, volnočasovým aktivitám, jsou považovány za relevantní respondenty prováděného výzkumu, v rámci této bakalářské práce.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the role of churches and religious societies in the Czech Republic as on a political actor at the local level. It is about the relationship between religious societies and the state, their changes and how it affects community life in Písek town. Institution (Roman Catholic Parish) in selected area (the District of Písek, South Bohemian Region) was chosen as an object of this research. This thesis focuses on the relationship between religious societies and the state mainly after the year 1989. The thesis is divided into seven chapters. In the first part general assumptions evaluating religion, relationship between religion and the citizens of the Czech Republic and the effect of religion in the chosen district are set. The sources from authors like Émile Durkheim, Johann B. Metz and Zdeněk R. Nešpor were used. A significant part of the thesis are also interviews with important agents who are affected by the problems. Furthermore, they have a job, position in the town or leisure activities connected to this topic and are considered to be relevant respondents for the research of this thesis.
