Possibilities of Using Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment on Seniors in Late Seniority

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na stimulační program pro rozvoj kognitivních funkcí dle metody Feuersteinova instrumentálního obohacování, u seniorů v pozdním séniu v domově pro seniory. Cílem bakalářské práce je ukázat fakt, že i senioři v pozdním séniu jsou schopní velmi dobře cvičit tuto metodu, která jim může zlepšit jejich kognitivní funkce. V českém prostředí se tato metoda objevila na počátku 90. let 20. století. Původní využití metody bylo v oblasti školství, konkrétně jako nápravný program pro prospěchově slabé žáky. Postupem času se pole metody rozšířilo z práce s dětmi na práci s dospělou populací i seniory. Osvědčila se například jako stimulační program u běžné populace, jako tréninková metoda u dospělých nebo jako rehabilitační metoda po traumatickém poranění mozku (Málková, 2008). V teoretické části práce se zabýváme představením autora metody profesora Reuvena Feuersteina, uvedením historických souvislostí, které byly podnětem pro vznik instrumentálního obohacování. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na stáří a sénický věk, jako takový. V praktické části se zabýváme prezentací vlastního výzkumu. V úvodu objasňujeme záměr výzkumu, stanovujeme výzkumné otázky, popisujeme výzkumný vzorek a zápisy z výukových hodin. Poté provádíme kódování, diskusi a závěrečné shrnutí. Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on a stimulation program for the development of cognitive functions according to Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment method, aimed at seniors in late senium in a retirement home. The goal of the thesis is to demonstrate the fact that even seniors in late senium are capable of effectively practicing this method, vhich can improve their cognitive functions. In the Czech environment, this method emergend in the early1990s. Originally, the method was used in the field of education, specifically as a remedial program for underperforming students. Over time, the scope of the method expanded from working with children to working with the adult population and seniors. It has proven efective, for example, as a stimulation program for the general population, as a training method for adults, or as a rehabilitation method after traumatic brain injury (Málková, 2008). In the theoretical part of the thesis, we introduce the author of the method, Professor Reuven Feuerstein, and present the historical context that inspired the creation of Instrumental Enrichment. The second chapter focuses on old age and the scenium age as such. In the practical part, we present our own research. In the introduction, we clarify the research intent, set research questions, describe the research sample, and provide notes from the teaching swssions. We then perform coding, and a final summary.
