Intergenerational transfer of management in select Czech family-owned companies

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce Nástupnictví ve vybraných českých podnicích je představení nástupnické strategie v souvislosti s jejím využitím v konkrétním českém rodinném podniku. V teoretických východiscích jsou analyzovány pojmy malý a střední podnik, rodinný podnik, specifika rodinného podnikání, nástupnický koncept, role zakladatele, předávání znalostí, proces předání podniku, rodinná ústava, konflikty v rodinném podniku. V aplikační části jsou představeny tři vybrané rodinné podniky – Technometra Český Brod a. s., HOFA CZ s. r. o. a Edilizio spol. s. r. o., dále jsou analyzovány výstupy polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se zakladateli těchto podniků, v jednom případě s potenciálním nástupníkem. Cílem je srovnat stávající situaci v nástupnictví zvolených firem a navrhnout metodou dedukce nástupnickou strategii pro konkrétní český rodinný podnik tak, aby došlo k udržení a posílení pozice a dobrého jména podniku.

Abstract:

The thesis Succession of leadership in selected Czech family owned businesses focuses on the introduction of intergenerational transfer strategy and its‘ implementation in one particular Czech family-owned company. The theoretical part focuses on the analysis of concepts such as: small business, medium business, family owned business, the specifics of family owned companies, the concept of Succession of leadership, the role of the founder, the transfer of knowledge, the process of business transfer, family constitution and conflicts in a family business. In the practical part, three family-owned businesses are introduced. These are – Technometra Český Brod a. s., HOFA CZ s. r. o. and Edilizio spol. s. r. o.Additionally, semi-structured interviews with owners of companies mentioned aboved are analyzed as well as an interview with one potential succesor. The aim is to compare the current situation in the intergenerational transfer of management in selected companies and to propose a method of deducting the succession strategy for a particular Czech family business so as to maintain and strengthen the position and good name of the company.
