Abstract:

Ve své práci se budu zabývat kamenářstvím v 19. až 20. století. Hlavním předmětem zájmu bude především hledáním drahých kamenů prostřednictvím Čenka Paclta, Michala Kotleta a Zdeňka Holuba z Holic na jejich zahraničních cestách. Dále budu sledovat finanční vývoj firem, které se v Turnově zabývaly broušením drahých kamenů. Práce by měla vytvořit náhled na kamenářství na Turnovsku a fungování kamenářského průmyslu.

Abstract:

In this thesis I am going to introduce the history of gem cutting in 19th and 20th century. The primary subject which I am going to analyse will be the prospecting of gemstones by Čeněk Paclt, Michal Kotleta, both from Turnov, and Zdeněk Holub from Holice on their journeys to foreign countries. Then I will focus on the financial development of the companies which were dealing with cutting gemstones and their distribution in Turnov. This thesis should describe the history and development of gem cutting industry in Turnov region and the different aspects of gem cutting as well as gem hunting profession.
