Proteíny sú komplexné makromolekuly, ktoré sú základom životne dôležitých procesov odohrávajúcich sa vo všetkých organizmoch. Vedci z mnohých oblastí preto už niekoľko dekád skúmajú ich štruktúru, funkcie a interakcie s inými molekulami.
