Symbolism of the bear in Finnish folklore
Abstract:
Bakalářská práce se zabývá symbolikou medvěda ve finské lidové slovesnosti. Primárními zdroji jsou písně ze souboru Suomen Kansan Vanhat Runot, finské pohádky a bajky, finská přísloví. Práce zkoumá význam a proměnlivost symbolu v závislosti na žánru a kontextu. Součástí práce jsou také překlady vybraných písní ze souboru SKVR.
Abstract:
The thesis focuses on the symbolism of bear in the Finnish folklore. The main source of the work are songs from the collection Suomen Kansan Vanhat Runot. The paper analyses the meaning of the symbol and how it changes with the genre of the text. Translations of selected poems from the SKVR collection are also a part of the thesis.
