Analysis of Pupils´ Narrative Abilities at the Beginning of School Attending

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou narativních schopností žáků na počátku školní docházky. Cílem práce bylo zjistit úroveň narativních schopností žáků na počátku školní docházky při samostatném vyprávění příběhu. Už při zápisu do první třídy by děti měly být schopny povyprávět nějaký příběh či pohádku. Na počátku školní docházky by tedy žáci měli disponovat určitou úrovní narativních schopností, a proto byla hlavním zaměřením práce podrobnější analýza dětmi vyprodukovaných narativ. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí - teoretické a empirické. Teoretická část je zaměřena na sumarizaci teoretických poznatků o vývoji dětského jazykového poznávání, vývoji narativních schopností a vztahu předčítání rodičů dětem k jejich vypravěčským schopnostem. V části výzkumné jsou prezentována zjištění výzkumu, který byl realizován s dětmi prostřednictvím testu produkce příběhu a s jejich rodiči prostřednictvím dotazníku. V závěru práce jsou interpretovány výsledky a limity výzkumu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with analysis of pupils´ narrative abilities at the beginning of school attending. The aim of this thesis was to find the level of pupils´ narrative abilities at the beginning of their school attending while narrating their stories individually. Children should be able to narrate a story or a fairy tale during their enrolment for their first class at primary school. At the beginning of a school year pupils should have certain level of narrative abilities that is why more detailed analysis of narratives produced by children was the main focus of this thesis. This work consists of two parts - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part is focused on a summarization of theoretical knowledge about the development of children´s language learning, development of narrative abilities and relation between parents´ reading to their children and children´s narrative abilities. The empirical part presents the findings of a research which was put into practice with children by a story creation test and with their parents by a questionnaire. The conclusion of this thesis interprets the results and limits of the research.
