Financial analysis of a particular company

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci, za pomoci finanční analýzy, zhodnotím finanční situaci podniku Elektro S.M.S. spol. s r.o. Firma se zabývá prodejem elektromateriálu a doplňkového zboží. Má pobočky v Praze, v Jihočeském a Západočeském kraji. Finanční analýza bude vypracována za období od roku 2008 do roku 2012. Cílem práce je zhodnotit finanční zdraví podniku za pomoci vybraných metod a informací k nim potřebných. Bakalářská práce se skládá z teoretické a aplikační části. V teoretické části se budu zabývat pojmy souvisejícími s finanční analýzou, např.: zdroje, uživatelé. Dále přiblížím jednotlivé metody a postupy finanční analýzy. V aplikační části nejprve představím hodnocenou společnost. Poté vypracuji horizontální a vertikální analýzu účetních výkazů. Dále vypočítám jednotlivé ukazatele a provedu porovnání se dvěma konkurenčními podniky. Z výsledků jednotlivých analýz vyhodnotím ekonomickou situaci podniku a navrhnu možná opatření, která by mohla firmě pomoci v dalším ekonomickém rozvoji a prosperitě. Informace budu čerpat z výročních zpráv uveřejňovaných v obchodním rejstříku.

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis I evaluate financial situation of the company Elektro S.M.S. spol. s r.o. with the help of financial analysis. The company is engaged in the sale of electric and complementary goods with branches in Prague, southern and western Bohemia. The financial analysis will be made for the period from 2008 to 2012. The aim is to evaluate financial health of the company with the aid of selected methods and information they need. The bachelor thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part I will deal with the terms connecting to financial analysis for example sources and users. Further I will explain various methods and techniques of financial analysis. In the practical part, at first I will introduce the chosen company. Then I will work out horizontal and vertical analysis of accounting statements. Next I will calculate individual indicators and compare them with two other competitive firms. From the results of the analyses I will evaluate economical situation of the company and I will suggest possible measures that could help the company in further economical development and prosperity. I will use information from annuals reports published in business register.
