The introducy chapters of the thesis focuses on the development of coal minig in the Czech Republic especially Ostrava-Karviná district is decribed in more details. The main concern of this work is the extraction of coal in Beskydy, where the emphasis is on analysis, the negative impacts of coal mining in this area in terms of physical-geographical and socio-economical.
