Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na roli a vliv, kterou měl image jako forma reprezentace v období restaurace. Na image, kterým se osobnosti ve společnosti reprezentovaly, měly velký vliv klepy, intriky, satiry a společenské normy. Tato práce analyzuje, jak moderní reimaginace, konkrétně filmové inscenace Restoration, The Libertine, Stage Beauty, pracují s imagy vytvořenými v tomto období. Zaměřuje se především na image krále Karla II., dále na divadlo jako jeden z tvůrčích prvků imagu, a nakonec na image žen, který získaly v období restaurace.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the role and influence that image as a form of representation had during the Restoration period. The images of public figures were highly influenced by gossip, intrigues, satires and social norms. This thesis analyses how modern re-imaginings, namely film productions Restoration, The Libertine, and Stage Beauty, work with the images created during this period. It mainly focuses on the image of King Charles II, on the theatre as one of the influencing tools for shaping one’s image, and lastly, on the image women gained during the Restoration period.
