Autonomous mobility, its acceptance and potential for handicapped people

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměří na problematiku autonomní mobility a možnosti jejího využití skupinou uživatelů se specifickými požadavky - osoby s psychickým, smyslovým a fyzickým zdravotním postižením. Autonomní mobilita představuje novou technologii v pokročilé fázi testování a otázka akceptovatelnosti této technologie různými skupinami potenciálních budoucích uživatelů vzbuzuje velký zájem. Studie ze zahraničí ukazují, že právě hendikepované osoby patří mezi segment lidí, kteří budou nejvíce používat samořiditelná vozidla, jež budou moci ovládat i přes svoje zdravotní postižení. Cílem této bakalářské práce je zjistit, jaká je informovanost o problematice autonomní mobility a jak tuto novou technologii vnímají potenciální uživatelé (míra její akceptace), a odhalit očekávané přínosy a případné bariéry využívání autonomních vozidel v dopravě mezi touto cílovou skupinou uživatelů. K těmto účelům budou využita primární data získaná pomocí dotazníkového šetření mezi klienty a zaměstnanci společnosti Arkadie, o. p. s. (N=75). Posbíraná kvantitativní data budou zpracována s využitím statistických metod - (popisné statistiky). Výsledky mohou posloužit veřejným institucím jako informace o potenciálu autonomních vozidel a jejich využití mezi zdravotně postiženými.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of autonomous mobility and the possibility of its use by participants with specific requirements - people with mental, sensory and physical disabilities. Autonomous mobility is a new technology in an advanced stage of testing, and the question of the acceptability of this technology by various groups of potential future users is of great interest. Studies from abroad show that the disabled are among the segment of people who will use the most self-driving vehicles, which they will be able to control despite their handicap. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out how there is awareness of the issue of autonomous mobility and how this new technology is perceived by potential users (acceptance rate), and reveal the expected benefits and possible barriers to using autonomous vehicles in transport among this target group of users. Primary data obtained by means of a questionnaire survey among clients and employees of Arkadie, o. p. s. (N = 75) will be used for these purposes. The collected quantitative data will be processed using statistical methods - (descriptive statistics). The results can serve as information for public institutions about the potential of autonomous vehicles and their use among the disabled.
