Abstract:

Teze dizertační práce jsou zaměřené na oblast Komplexního zpracování událostí (angl. Complex Event Processing - CEP). Tato vědecká oblast sdílí mnoho vlastností s proudovým zpracováním informací. CEP je především aplikačně zaměřený a mezi hlavní aplikace patří zpracování velkého objemu dat ve chvíli, kdy jsou data generována. Cíle dizertační práce jsou teoretické i praktické. Teoreticky dizertační práce zavede a zvaliduje nový model distribuovaného CEP, který je nazván Sémanticky dělené komplexní zpracování událostí s rovností uzlů (angl. Semantically Partitioned Peer to Peer Complex Event Processing - PCEP). Aplikačním cílem je využití klíčových myšlenek PCEP pro vytvoření běhového prostředí, které bude schopno zpracovávat velké množství informací proudově a distribuovaně. Cílem práce je také využít toto běhové prostředí pro řešení reálných problémů v oblasti energetiky a monitorování takzvaných inteligentních budov.

Abstract:

The thesis proposal targets Complex Event Processing (CEP), an area that shares many aspects with stream processing. CEP is mainly application oriented and dedicated to enabling the processing of vast amounts of data online while the data are being generated. The goals of the thesis, which are outlined in this proposal, are aimed towards both theory and application. In theory, the thesis aims to introduce and validate a new model for distributed CEP called Semantically Partitioned Peer to Peer Complex Event Processing (PCEP). The application oriented goal of the thesis is to develop a processing engine that uses pillar ideas from PCEP. Such an application could then be used to solve problems in the real world, within the energy distribution industry and the monitoring of smart buildings.
