New derivatives products on Prague stock exchange and the relationship to the spot market

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce ukazuje na začátky obchodování s deriváty na pražské burze, ukazuje na problémy s nimiž se obchodování muselo od počátku potýkat a pojmenovává důvody, které vedly k tomu, že obchodování s deriváty v naší zemi není příliš úspěšné. Seznamuje s pojmy, rozdělením a jednotlivými druhy finančních derivátů, jejich základní charakteristikou, způsobem obchodování. Popisuje obchodování s deriváty v okolních zemích jako Polsko, Rakousko, Německo a vzájemně porovnává jejich vývoj v posledních letech. Ukazuje další předpokládaný vývoj po prodeji pražské burzy právě vídeňské burze a dopad týkající se dalšího směrování obchodování s deriváty. Část práce popisuje důsledek vzniku finanční krize a to právě v oblasti derivátových produktů a očekávaný budoucí vývoj těchto produktů i vzhledem k přísné regulaci, která tuto část finančního trhu zasáhne.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis presents the beginnings of derivatives dealing on Prague stock exchange, shows the problems which the dealing had to tackle, and designates the reasons leading to the fact that the derivatives dealing in the Czech Republic has not been very successful. It introduces terms, division and individual kinds of financial derivatives, their basic characteristics and types of dealing. It describes the derivatives dealing in the neighbouring countries such as Poland, Austria, Germany, and it compares mutually their development over the last years. It shows as well further assumed development after Prague stock exchange has been sold to the very Vienna stock exchange, and the impact regarding the further direction of derivatives dealing. A part of this work describes the consequences of the financial crisis rise in the very sphere of derivative products, and the expected future development of these products, also with regard to the strict regulations, which will afflict this part of financial market.
