Records of liabilities in a selected financial institution with a focus on electronic circulation of accounting documents and overdue liabilities

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na evidenci a splatnost závazků ve vybrané finanční instituci. Cílem práce je popsat a zhodnotit problematiku evidence a splatnosti závazků, zejména závazků z dodavatelsko-odběratelských vztahů, se zaměřením na systém sloužící k jejich evidenci a zároveň k elektronickému oběhu faktur přijatých a kontrolu jejich splatnosti. V teoretické části je použita metoda deskripce a jsou zde definovány závazky obecně, jejich vznik, splatnost a zánik, a to jak z právního tak i účetního a daňového hlediska. Následně jsou obecně charakterizovány základní typy závazků vybrané společnosti. Samostatná kapitola je věnována závazkům z dodavatelsko-odběratelských vztahů a elektronickému oběhu účetních dokladů. Praktická část obsahuje charakteristiku vybrané finanční instituce a evidenčního systému, sloužícího k elektronickému oběhu účetních dokladů. Prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření jsou získána potřebná data týkající se splatnosti přijatých dokladů v tomto evidenčním systému. Cílem tohoto šetření je získané informace vyhodnotit a navrhnout optimalizaci tohoto systému tak, aby zpracování závazků z obchodních vztahů bylo efektivnější a aby byl eliminován vznik závazků po splatnosti.

Abstract:

This Bachelor Thesis is focused on record-keeping and maturity of liabilities in a chosen financial institution. The goal of this thesis is to describe and evaluate the subject matter of record-keeping and maturity of liabilities, specifically, the trade payables arising from suppliercustomer relations with a focus on the record-keeping system as well as a focus on the electronic circulation of invoices received and the controls over their timely repayment. Liabilities are firstly described generally in the theoretical part in terms of their origination, maturity and cessation, from the legal, accounting as well as tax point of view. Subsequently, the general types of liabilities of the chosen financial institution are characterised. A stand-alone chapter is dedicated to liabilities arising from supplier-customer relations and the electronic circulation of accounting documents. The practical part consists of characterisation of the chosen financial institution and its recordkeeping system, used for the electronic circulation of accounting documents. Necessary data were acquired through conducting a survey into the maturity of accounts payables recorded in this record-keeping system. The goal of this research is to evaluate the acquired information and propose an optimised solution of this system in order to increase efficiency of trade payables’ processing and to eliminate emergence of overdue invoices.
