Colour vision and specific learning disabilities

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o barvocitu, popisuje barevný vjem, jeho charakteristiky a vlivy okolí. Zabývá se horopterem a Panumovým prostorem, který umožňuje vnímat vzdálené a bližší předměty prostorově. Práce dále popisuje receptory, tyčinky a čípky i vedení vzruchů zrakovými drahami do zrakových center v mozku. Charakterizuje druhy specifických poruch učení, předkládá jejich definici a možné přístupy hodnocení a terapie, popisuje zrakové, okohybné a mozkové pochody při čtení a psaní. Zejména se však věnuje možnostem terapie specifických poruch učení pomocí barevných folií a filtrů, které odlišně lámou přicházející paprsky. Tato změna chodu paprsku snižuje nepříjemné pocity při čtení, psaní atd. Práce rovněž zpracovává studie, které tuto terapii nepodporují, a studie, které uvedenou teorii nevyvrací, ale poukazují na možné jiné příčiny nepříjemných pocitů než senzorické nedokonalosti sítnice.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on colour vision, describing colour impression, its characteristic and influences. It deals with the horopter and Panum´s area that enable to perceive distant and closer objects spatially. The thesis defines receptors, rods and cones and the conduction of visual pathways to the visual centres in the brain. It characterizes kinds of specific learning difficulties, presents the definition and the evaluation of possible approaches and therapies. It describes visual, eye-moving and brain processes in reading and writing. Particularly it deals with the possibilities of the therapy of specific learning difficulties using colour overlays or filters that change the trajectory of the beam. This change of the beam reduces discomfort in reading, writing etc. The thesis also defines studies that do not support this therapy and studies that show possible different causes (not sensory cause).
