Analysis of split wedge joint

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou děleného klínového spoje pomocí numerické simulace v softwaru ANSYS. V teoretické části práce je tento spoj přiblížen z pohledu jeho geometrických variant a možností výroby, včetně uvedení dosavadního výzkumu o něm. Praktická část je poté zaměřena na vyhotovení funkčních modelů a jejich následnou analýzu. Získaná data jednotlivých variant jsou poté interpretována a srovnávána mezi sebou pro zobrazení vlivu geometrie spoje a jeho materiálu. Použitými materiály byly dřevo jasanu, borovice a březová překližka, při variantách s rovnoběžnými, či zešikmenými dlaby a zkoumán byl také vliv otvorů ve spoji pro přesun napětí. Nejlepších celkových výsledků poté dosahovala jasanová varianta se zešikmením a otvory, naopak materiál překližky se vzhledem k rozsáhlým poškozením při tvorbě předpětí prokázal jako nevhodný při použitých geometriích.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the analysis of a split wedge joint using numerical simulation in ANSYS software. In the theoretical part of the thesis, this joint is presented in terms of its geometrical variants and production possibilities, including a presentation of the existing research on it. The practical part is then focused on the construction of functional models and their subsequent analysis. The data obtained for each variant are then interpreted and compared with each other to show the influence of the geometry of the joint and its material. The materials used were ash wood, pine and birch plywood, for the variants with parallel or chamfered mortise. The influence of holes in the joint for stress transfer was also investigated. The ash variant with chamfers and holes then gave the best overall results, while the plywood material proved to be unsuitable for the geometries used due to the extensive damage during prestress creation.
