Deposit insurance as a protection tool depositors in selected EU countries

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce bylo zjistit do jaké míry je naplněna jednotná úroveň ochrany vkladatele ve vybraných zemích EU. Během práce jsem vycházel z národní legislativ jednotlivých zemí, a také z právních předpisů samotné EU. V první části práce jsem se zabýval současnou problematikou pojištění vkladů na úrovni celé EU, a dále jsem prováděl analýzu vybraných národních systémů pojištění vkladů. Po vyhodnocení analýzy jsem došel k závěrům, že aktuální úroveň ochrany vkladatele ve mnou zkoumaných zemích je srovnatelná, i přesto že se zde vyskytují určité odlišnosti. Tyto odchylky popisuji podrobně v dílčích závěrech práce i v samotném závěru.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis aims to determine a degree to which deposit insurance is united among chosen EU countries. It simultaneously follows national legislations of studied countries and legislative acts of the EU as a whole. Firstly, the thesis studies the current state of deposit insurance on the EU-level. The second part analyses specific national systems and their level of deposit and depositor protection. After result evaluation it has become clear that the current level of deposit and depositor protection in studied EU countries is comparable to one another, despite minor differences. Said differences are described in detail in individual chapters as well as in the thesis summary.
