Kindergarten teachers and their professional difficulties activities focused on speech therapy prevention of children

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo zjistit a popsat možné obtíže, s kterými se mohou setkat učitelé v mateřských školách při realizaci logopedické prevence. Teoretická část popisuje jakým obtížím je učitel vystaven během svého profesního života a dopady na práci učitele. Současně uvažujeme o důležitosti reflexe a sebereflexe v profesi učitele i jako možné prevenci před vznikem syndromu vyhoření, který je popisován dál. Dále jsme se zaměřili na osobu učitele mateřské školy a definujeme jeho kompetence, jaké činnosti vykonává a do jakých rolí vstupuje. Následuje vymezení pojmu logopedická prevence v mateřské škole, čím se zabývá, jaké činnosti jsou jejich součásti a jakými metodami je uskutečňována a v neposlední řadě jaké obtíže může její realizace způsobovat učiteli mateřské školy. V praktické části jsme v terénu zjišťovali, které profesní obtíže učitelé mateřských škol skutečně pociťují při realizaci primární logopedické prevence. Prostředkem k sběru potřebných dat byla využita kvantitativní i kvalitativní metoda. V první fázi jsme oslovili respondentky v dotazníkovém šetření a následně jsme pro zvýšení reliability uskutečněného výzkumu v druhé fázi zrealizovali řadu rozhovorů. K detekci a identifikaci strategických informací z vykonaných rozhovorů jsme využili metodu zakotvené teorie. Po provedení analýzy jsme dospěli k tomu, že učitelé zaznamenávají obtíže při realizaci logopedické prevence, víc jako polovina všech respondentů ohodnotila míru náročnosti stejnou jako u realizace jiných činností. No 12 (11 %) učitelů vnímá aplikaci logopedické prevence jako náročnou a pro jednoho respondenta je logopedická prevence velmi obtížná. Největší zátěž zaznamenali učitelé v důsledku vysokého počtu dětí na třídách a s tím související i náročná práce s nimi po časové stránce a současně jako problém vnímají učitele nedostatečnou míru aktivity ze strany rodičů.

Abstract:

The aim of the study was to identify and describe possible difficulties that teachers in kindergartens may encounter when implementing speech therapy prevention. The theoretical part describes what difficulties a teacher is exposed to during his/her professional life and the impact on the teacher's work. At the same time, we consider the importance of reflection and self-reflection in the teaching profession as well as a possible prevention of burnout syndrome, which is described next. Next, we focus on the person of the kindergarten teacher and define his/her competences, what activities he/she performs and what roles he/she enters into. This is followed by a definition of the term speech therapy prevention in kindergarten, what it deals with, what activities are its components and what methods are used to implement it, and last but not least, what difficulties its implementation may cause for the kindergarten teacher. In the practical part, we investigated in the field which professional difficulties kindergarten teachers actually experience when implementing primary speech therapy prevention. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were used as a means to collect the necessary data. In the first phase, we addressed the respondents in a questionnaire survey and then, to increase the reliability of the research conducted in the second phase, we conducted a series of interviews. We used the grounded theory method to detect and identify strategic information from the conducted interviews. After conducting the analysis, we concluded that teachers perceived difficulties in implementing speech therapy prevention, more than half of all respondents rated the level of difficulty as the same as for implementing other activities. 12 (11%) teachers perceived the application of speech therapy prevention as challenging and one respondent found speech therapy prevention very difficult. Teachers perceived the greatest burden as a result of the high number of children in their classes and the related demanding work with them in terms of time, while at the same time teachers perceived the lack of activity on the part of parents as a problem.
