Cílem této práce je zjistit, zda je možné pomocí teoretického popisu fonetického systému britských regionálních přízvuků určit, jakým přízvukem ve skutečnosti mluví herci britského původu v seriálu “Pán času”. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části: teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část se věnuje primárně historickému vývoji britských přízvuků a fonetickému popisu regionálních přízvuků angličtiny vyskytujících se na území Spojeného království. Praktická část je zaměřena na analýzu vybraných anglických promluv pěti herců seriálu “Pán času”.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to find out whether it is possible to determine what accent is spoken by British actors in the series "Doctor Who" with the help of the theoretical description of the phonetic system of British regional accents. The work is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals primarily with the historical development of British accents and the phonetic description of regional British accents occurring in the United Kingdom. The practical part is focused on the analysis of the selected speech of five actors of the series "Doctor Who".
