Tato diplomová práce zkoumá pojem vězení v literárních dílech Margaret Atwoodové s konkrétním zaměřením na ženské postavy. Protagonisté Atwoodové jsou uvězněni ve fyzických i metaforických věznicích, z nichž se snaží uniknout. Tato práce analyzuje ztrátu svobody a to, jak je těžké získat zpět sebevědomí. This Master´s thesis explores the concept of prison in the literary works of Margaret Atwood with a particular focus on female characters. Atwood’s protagonists are trapped in both physical and metaphorical prisons from which they are trying to escape. It further analyzes the loss of freedom and the difficulty regaining self-confidence.
