The case study of juvenile deliquency.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou delikventního chování v období adolescence a zkoumá zkušenost jedince na případové úrovni. Výzkumným problémem je zkušenost participanta s vlastní delikvencí v období střední adolescence. K výzkumnému projektu je přistupováno kvalitativně vzhledem k předmětu výzkumu této práce. Participant byl vybrán na základě prostého účelového výběru. Data byla získána metodou nestrukturovaného interview a k následné analýze a interpretaci dat byla využita metoda Interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy (IPA). Z výzkumného problému byly derivovány výzkumné otázky, na které diplomová práce odpovídá: Jak uvažuje participant o své delikvenci? Jak participant uvažuje o incentivách vlastní delikvence? Jaké významy připisuje participant svému chování během adolescence? Z výsledku vyplývá několik témat, která naznačují, že participant vnímá své delikventní chování jako nevhodné, ale zároveň potřebné k dosažení autonomie, svobody, respektu a dominantního postavení mezi vrstevníky.

Abstract:

This thesis addresses the issue of delinquent behaviour during adolescence and examines the experience of the individual at the case level. The research problem is the participant's experience of their own delinquency during middle adolescence. The research project is approached qualitatively due to the research object of this thesis. The participant was selected on the basis of a simple purpose-based selection. The data was obtained through an unstructured interview method and Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used to subsequently analyse and interpret the data. The research questions were derived from the research problem and the thesis answers them: How do the participants think about their delinquency? How do the participants think about the incentive of their own delinquency? What meanings do the participants ascribe to their behaviour during adolescence? The result offers several themes suggesting that participants perceive their delinquent behaviour as inappropriate, but also necessary to achieve autonomy, freedom, respect, and dominance among peers.
