Sukcese lesních společenstev versus lesnická rekultivace v lomech Moravského krasu: hydropedologické poměry jako determinanta environmentálních limitů

Succession of Forest Communities versus Forestry Reclamation in the Quarries of the Moravian Karst: Hydropedological Conditions as a Determinant of Environmental Limits

Abstract:

Rekultivační práce byly posuzovány v Moravském krase na konkrétním příkladu lomu Mokrá. Hodnoceno bylo celkem osm lokalit, dvě lokality procházely přirozenou sukcesí (plochy Quarry Wall a Reed Canary Grass) a na šesti lokalitách probíhala řízená lesní rekultivace. Z šesti lesnických rekultivací byly čtyři klasifikovány jako prosperující (plochy Prospering Lime, Prospering Maple, Prospering Pine a Prospering Lime+Oatgrass) a dvě upadající (plochy Declining Pine a Declining Larch+Lime). Výsledky ukázaly, že lokalita Prospering Lime+Oatgrass zadržovala více vody než jiné plochy. Terénní měření půdní vlhkosti ukázaly, že během 1826denního monitorovacího období dosáhly bodu vadnutí pouze půdy na následných lokalitách (plocha Quarry Wall: 183 dnů; Reed Canary Grass: 64 dnů a jeden den mimo vegetační období u Prospering Pine). Výsadby dřevin ve skleníku neprokázaly významný vliv hydrogelu na vlhkostní podmínky třech substrátů (S1 – drcený vápenec, S2 – písčitý substrát, S3 – zemina obohacená drceným vápencem). Z vysazených dřevin (Pinus sylvestris L., Larix decidua Mill., Picea abies L., Karst. a Quercus robur L.) rostla nejlépe borovice na substrátu S3. Výsadby borovice lesní (Pinus sylvestris L.) a dubu letního (Quercus robur L.) v lomu Mokrá zaznamenaly u dubu nižší toleranci k přírodním podmínkám stanoviště. Dub letní měl vysokou mortalitu jak na variantě s hydrogelem (76 %), tak na kontrolní variantě (67 %). Borovice lesní dle očekávání zaznamenala nižší úmrtnost sazenic na kontrolní variantě (28 %) něž na hydrogelové variantě (61 %). Práce zdůrazňuje zásadní roli kvality a hloubky půdního profilu při posuzování úspěšnosti rekultivací. Současná heterogenita půdních podmínek a dynamika přírodních procesů v lomu Mokrá nevytvářejí optimální prostředí pro obnovu stromového patra.

Abstract:

Reclamation work was assessed in the Moravian Karst, using the specific example of the Mokrá quarry. A total of eight sites were evaluated: two sites undergoing natural succession (areas Quarry Wall and Reed Canary Grass) and six sites where managed forest reclamation was taking place. Of the six forest reclamation sites, four were classified as prospering (areas Prospering Lime, Prospering Maple, Prospering Pine and Prospering Lime+Oatgrass) and two as declining (areas Declining Pine and Declining Larch+Lime). The results showed that the Prospering Lime+Oatgrass site retained more water than the other areas. Field soil moisture measurements showed that, during the 1826-day monitoring period, the wilting point was reached only in soils at the following sites (Quarry Wall: 183 days; Reed Canary Grass: 64 days and one day outside the growing season at Prospering Pine). Greenhouse tree planting did not show a significant effect of hydrogel on the moisture conditions of the three substrates (S1 – crushed limestone, S2 – sandy substrate, S3 – soil enriched with crushed limestone). Of the planted trees (Pinus sylvestris L., Larix decidua Mill., Picea abies L., Karst., and Quercus robur L.), Scots pine grew best on substrate S3. The plantings of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and English oak (Quercus robur L.) in the Mokrá quarry showed lower tolerance of the oak to the natural site conditions. English oak had high mortality rates in both the hydrogel variant (76%) and the control variant (67%). Scots pine, as expected, had lower seedling mortality in the control variant (28%) compared to the hydrogel variant (61%). The study emphasizes the crucial role of soil profile quality and depth in assessing the success of reclamation efforts. The current heterogeneity of soil conditions and the dynamics of natural processes in the Mokrá quarry do not create an optimal environment for the restoration of the tree layer.
