Analysis of the main characters in Polish series Kruk. Szepty słychać po zmroku and their similarity to book characters of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá analýzou a komparací hlavních postav polského detektivního seriálu Kruk. Szepty słychać po zmroku a titulních postav novely Podivný případ doktora Jekylla a pana Hyda. Analýza metodologicky vychází především z kategorií vlastností postav Jeremyho G. Butlera a konceptu rysů postav Seymoura Chatmana. Po představení různých úhlů nahlížení na postavu v kapitole Kritika literatury následuje kapitola Metodologie a teoretické koncepty, ve které je vytýčeno, jakým způsobem je k analýze a komparaci přistoupeno. Cílem práce byla odpověď na otázku, zda se postavy Adam a Sławek podobají postavám doktora Jekylla a pana Hyda. Odpověď se nachází v kapitole Závěr. Práce také obsahuje krátký vhled do polské televizní krajiny.

Abstract:

The work deals with the analysis and the comparison of two main characters of Polish detective series Kruk. Szepty słychać po zmroku (The Raven. Whispering Heard after Dark with the main characters of a novel Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The analysis is metodologically based on categorisation of the characteristics of Jeremy G. Butler´s characters and Seymour Chatman´s concept of features. After introducing various angles of perception on the character in chapter Criticism of Literature, the chapter Methodology and theoretical concepts explaining approaches to the analysis and comparison comes after. The work aims to answer to a question whether the two characters Adam and Sławek resemble the characters of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The answer can be found in chapter Conclusion. The work also contains a short view over the Polish televisual countryside.
