The investment decision analysis of electric car purchase

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem "Analýza investičního rozhodování o koupi elektromobilu" si klade za cíl odhalit a porovnat výhody a nevýhody pořízení elektromobilu koncovým zákazníkem - nepodnikatelem. Pomocí dotazníkového průzkumu zjistit, jaké motivy vedou zákazníka k pořízení automobilu a poté na základě ukazatelů ekonomické efektivnosti vypočíst návratnost vložené investice. Z výsledků analýzy vyplynulo, že potenciální zákazníci nemají o elektromobilitu zájem a hlavní bariéry koupě tvoří vysoká pořizovací cena, nízká životnost elektromobilu, resp. baterií a omezený dojezd. Ukazatelé čistá současná hodnota a doba návratnosti prokázaly, že za současných podmínek a parametrů doba návratnosti přesahuje životnost elektromobilu. Závěrem tedy je, že investice do elektromobilu se za stávající vysoké pořizovací ceny nevyplatí.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor's thesis titled "The investment decision analysis of electric car purchase" is to detect and compare advantages and disadvantages of electric car purchase by end customer - non entrepreneur. The purpose is to define (by using a questionnaire survey) what are the motives for purchasing a car and then on the basis of the indicators of economic efficiency calculate the return of an investment. The results of the analysis showed that potential customers aren't interested in electric vehicles. Principal electromobility purchase barriers are high purchase cost, low electric or batteries lifetime, and limited range. The net present value and payback period parameters both approved that under current conditions and parameters the payback period exceed the life of an electric car. The conclusion, therefore, is that due to recent high purchase costs the investment in the electric car is not worth it.
