September 11, 2001 as the beginning of globalized terrorism

Abstract:

Hlavními tématy této bakalářské práce jsou především události, které vedly k teroristickým útokům z 11. září 2001 a následná reakce celého světa na tyto události. Teoretická část je zaměřena na vysvětlení základních pojmů, jako je terorismus a globální terorismus. Dále je zde popsán vývoj teroristické skupiny Al-Kaida, od jejího vzniku až do událostí z 11. září 2001. Další kapitola je pak věnována samotnému útoku a následné reakci USA. Zbylé kapitoly teoretické části jsou o válce proti terorismu včetně vzestupu a pádu Islámského státu. Praktická část této práce se skládá ze dvou samostatných kapitol. První obsahuje analýzu výsledku dotazníkového šetření, kde byly pokládány otázky na jednotlivé fáze boje proti terorismu. Od bezpečnostních prohlídek po válečné konflikty na Blízkém východě. V druhé kapitole praktické části je provedena SWOT analýza s doporučeními pro lepší podmínky boje proti terorismu v České republice.

Abstract:

The main themes of this bachelor's thesis are primarily the events that led to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and the subsequent reaction of the entire world to these events. The theoretical part is aimed at explaining basic concepts such as terrorism and global terrorism. It also describes the development of the Al-Qaeda terrorist group, from its inception until the events of September 11, 2001. The next chapter is then devoted to the attack itself and the subsequent US response. The remaining chapters of the theoretical section are about the war on terrorism, including the rise and fall of the Islamic State. The practical part of this work consists of two separate chapters. The first contains an analysis of the outcome of the questionnaire inquiry, where questions were asked about the different stages of the fight against terrorism. From security sweeps to wartime conflicts in the Middle East. In the second chapter of the practical part, the SWOT analysis is carried out with recommendations for better conditions for combating terrorism in the Czech Republic.
