The efficiency of broiler chicken production depending on the length of fattening and the season

Abstract:

Efektivita výkrmu brojlerových kuřat je závislá mimo jiné také na délce výkrmu a využití genetického potenciálu rychle rostoucích brojlerových kuřat. Cílem diplomové práce bylo vyhodnotit vliv farmy na parametry užitkovosti při jejich interním zařazení podle délky výkrmu do segmentu Light nebo Heavy a porovnat v užitkovosti také oba segmenty navzájem. Dalším cílem bylo vyhodnotit vliv ročního období na parametry užitkovosti kuřat. Do sledování byly zařazeny dvě farmy v segmentu Light a tři v segmentu Heavy. Věk, pro rozdělení do těchto segmentů byl stanoven na 36 dnů. Mezi parametry užitkovosti byly zařazeny: hmotnost v 7. dni, věk při porážce, hmotnost při porážce, konverze, konverze při hmotnosti 1,5 kg, mortalita, denní přírůstek a IEV. U vyhodnocení vlivu ročního období bylo do pozorování zahrnuto 178 turnusů z výkrmů v letech 2021–2023. Při hodnocení segmentu Light měla farma průkazný vliv na hmotnost při porážce, konverzi krmiva při hmotnosti kuřat na konci výkrmu i při hmotnosti 1,5 kg, na denní přírůstek i na IEV (P < 0,05). Naopak v segmentu Heavy nebyl mezi farmami průkazný rozdíl v konverzi krmiva ani při hmotnosti 1,5 kg, ba dokonce ani při porážkové hmotnosti. Při zhodnocení segmentů byl IEV průkazně nižší (P < 0,05) u segmentu Heavy. Nejlepších denních přírůstků a IEV dosahovala kuřata vykrmována na podzim (P < 0,05).

Abstract:

The efficiency of broiler chickens for fattening depends, among other things, on the length of fattening and utilization of the genetic potential of fast-growing broiler chickens. The aim of the diploma thesis was to evaluate the influence of the farm on the utility parameters during their internal classification according to the length of fattening in the Light or Heavy segment and to compare the utility of both segments with each other. Another aim was to evaluate the effect of the season on the utility parameters of chickens. Two farms in the Light segment and three in the Heavy segment were included in the monitoring. Age for distribution into these segments was determined to be 36 days. Performance parameters included: day 7 weight, slaughter age, slaughter weight, convert, 1.5 kg weight conversion, mortality, daily weight gain and IEV. In the evaluation of the effect of the annual period, 178 turnuses from fattening in the years 2021–2023 were included in the observation. In the Light segment assessment, the farm had a conclusive effect on slaughter weight, feed conversion at the end of fattening weight at 1.5 kg, daily gain and IEV (P < 0.05). Conversely, in the Heavy segment, there was no evidence of a difference in feed conversion between farms, neither in the weight of 1.5 kg nor in slaughter weight. When the segments were evaluated, IEV was significantly lower (P < 0.05) for the Heavy segment. The best daily weight gains and IEV reached chickens fattened in the autumn (P < 0.05).
