The Role of Social Networks in the Communications Mix

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem diplomové práce jsou sociální sítě a jejich role v komunikačním mixu. Práce je rozdělena do dvou kapitol. První kapitola je zaměřena na marketingovou komunikaci a její dílčí části, historické hledisko vzniku a vývoje internetu a na historii a typologii sociálních sítí. V druhé kapitole jsou představeny teoretické základy praktické části práce, například analýza sociálních sítí Facebook a Linkedin, rozbor použitých pojmů z online marketingu, představení kampaně na sociálních sítích a její následná analýza a komparace dat. Poslední celek praktické části práce tvoří vlastní výzkumný projekt v podobě ilustrativního dotazníkového šetření. Představeny jsou rovněž dvě vstupní hypotézy, přičemž jedna je verifikována analýzou dat z kampaně na sociálních sítích a druhá názory respondentů z dotazníkového šetření. Závěr práce je věnován jednak vyhodnocení praktické části a verifikaci vstupních hypotéz, ale rovněž i vyhodnocení práce jako celku, problematice, které se věnuje a možnému budoucímu vývoji. V příloze diplomové práce je i skutečný dotazník, který byl k dispozici osloveným respondentům a prezentace reklamních formátů na sítích Facebook a Linkedin.

Abstract:

The main theme of the thesis is social networks and their roles in communication mix. The thesis is divided into two chapters. The first chapter is focused on marketing communication and its component parts, historical perspective of formation and evolution of the internet and on the history and typology of social networks. Theoretical bases for the practical part of the thesis are presented in the second chapter, e.g. the analysis of social networks Facebook and Linkedin, an analysis of the online marketing terms, presentation of the campaign on these two social networks and subsequent analysis and comparison of the campaign data. The last part of the thesis is dedicated to the research project in the form of an illustrative questionnaire survey. Two initial hypotheses are introduced. The first hypothesis is verified by analysis of the campaign data and the second hypothesis is verified by respondents´ opinions. The conclusion of the thesis is focused both on evaluation of the practical part and verification of the hypothesis, evaluation of the thesis as whole and possible future developments. The questionnaire and presentation of the advertising formats on Facebook and Linkedin are enclosed with the thesis.
