Abstract:

Cílem této práce je analyzovat překladatelskou praxi z hlediska změn, které přinesly moderní překladatelské technologie. Rozvoj výpočetních techniky a digitálních technologií se promítl i do oblasti překladatelství. Poptávka po překladových službách na dnešním digitálním trhu neustále roste a moderní překladatelské technologie výrazně přispívají k rozvoji mezinárodní komunikace a zvyšují efektivitu a produktivitu překladatelů. Překladatelské technologie jsou založené na opakovaném užití starších překladů pro účely nových zakázek a pro účely vývoje strojového překladu. Užití těchto technologií tak rovněž přináší nové problémy, které mají negativní vliv na postavení překladatelů. Díla překladatelů se mění na digitální data a jsou často využívána pro další následné překlady, případně pro trénink strojového překladu, bez možnosti autora těchto dat zabránit takovému užití nebo z něj mít užitek. Dalším použitím překladových dat může také docházet k poškozování autorských práv překladatelů.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the translation practice with the focus on changes brought by the modern translation technologies. The development of computer and digital technology has also impacted the translation industry. The demand for translation services on the modern digital market is constantly growing and the modern translation technologies significantly contribute to the development of international communication and increase the efficiency and productivity of translators. Translation technology is based on repeated use of previous translations for the purpose of new translation projects and for training of machine translation systems. The use of this technology also raises new issues which have negative effects on the position of translators. Works produced by translators are turned into digital data which is subsequently used for other translation jobs or for the training of machine translation systems. The creator of such data has often no possibility to prevent such use or to financially benefit from it. Such secondary use of translation data may represent infringement on translators’ copyright.
