Influence of a non profit organization in Syria

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřila na způsoby, kterými přispívá nezisková organizace Člověk v tísni ke zmírnění dopadu humanitární krize v Sýrii. Konkrétní cíle práce jsou dva: 1) Představení příčiny a důsledku války v regionu v dlouhodobé perspektivě, v návaznosti na geopolitické analýzy velmocenských vlivů a sporů. 2) Analýza působení neziskové organizace Člověk v tísni v současné Sýrii. Pro splnění prvního cíle bylo nezbytné zpracovat důležité zahraniční i domácí zdroje, s rozborem prostorových souvislostí, demografického složení obyvatel a jejich kultury, popis činnosti humanitárních organizací v Sýrii, přeshraniční koordinace humanitárních dodávek pomoci, charakteristika vnitřně vysídlených osob a tok finančních prostředků pomocí humanitárních koridorů. Otázky spojené s druhým cílem si vyžádaly nejprve stručné pojednání o neziskové organizace Člověk v tísni (historie, oblasti, působení, struktura). Další odpovědi na otázky spojené s působením této organizace v Sýrii byly získány metodami dotazníkového šetření.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis focused on the ways in which the non-profit organization People in Need contributes to mitigating the impact of the humanitarian crisis in Syria. The specific objectives of the work are two: 1) Presentation of the cause and consequence of the war in the region in a long-term perspective, in connection with geopolitical analyses of great power influences and conflicts. 2) Analysis of the activities of the non-profit organization People in Need in present-day Syria. To achieve the first objective, it was necessary to process important foreign and domestic sources, with an analysis of spatial relationships, demographic composition of the population and their culture, description of the activities of humanitarian organizations in Syria, cross-border coordination of humanitarian aid deliveries, characteristics of internally displaced persons and flow of financial resources through humanitarian corridors. Questions related to the second objective required first a brief discussion of the non-profit organization People in Need (history, areas, activities, structure). Further answers to questions related to the activities of this organization in Syria were obtained using questionnaire survey methods.
