Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce je případovou studií kurátorské scény města Brna. Teoretický rámec se váže na analýzu vzniku a struktury francouzského literárního pole Pierra Bourdieho. Kurátorské pole bylo zkoumáno kvalitativními metodami, a to především rozhovory s kurátory z již etablovaných, ale také nově vzniklých galerií a muzeí v Brně. Specifickým případem studie jsou kurátoři-umělci, kteří se aktivně zapojují do kurátorské praxe. Práce popisuje motivy kurátorů pro realizaci výstav, a to v podmínkách kulturního obratu vedoucího ke zvyšující se otevřenosti vůči nejrůznějším příjemcům umění.

Abstract:

This thesis is a case study of a curatorial scene in Brno. Theoretical frame relates to Pierre Bourdieu's analysis of genesis and structure of literal French field. Curatorial field was examined by qualitative methods, in particular by interviews with curators of well-established and recently formed galleries and institutions in Brno. A specific case of this inquiry are curators-artists who actively participate in curatorial practices. This work tries to describe curator’s intentions for realizing exhibitions in circumstances of a cultural shift leading to increasing openness towards various recipients of art.
