Musculoskeletal system diagnostics of children

Abstract:

Publikace je zaměřená na diagnostiku pohybového aparátu u dětí. V první části je vysvětleno, co jsou vady pohybového aparátu, jak vznikají, jaké jsou pro jejich detekci k dispozici systémy a jak tyto systémy fungují. Další část se zabývá senzorem Microsoft Kinect. Vysvětluje, z jakých komponent se skládá a jak lze modifikovat jeho funkčnost ze vstupního ovládacího prvku herní konzole na systém, který pomůže při diagnostice pohybových vad. Následně je představena Aplikace, která je součástí této publikace. Aplikace je snadno ovladatelná a z hlediska uživatele příjemná. Využívá senzoru Kinect jako nástroje, jenž dokáže snímat klouby pacientova těla a ukládat jejich pozici do databáze. Dále je možné prohlížet historii pacientových vyšetření a sledovat postup pacientovy terapie pomocí několika užitečných funkcí, které aplikace poskytuje.

Abstract:

Publication is oriented on musculoskeletal system diagnostics of children. In the first part there is an explanation, what the musculoskeletal abnormalities are, what the cause of these abnormalities is and which system, that already exists, is able to detect them and how. Next part introduces the Microsoft Kinect sensor and explains its components and functionality in order to modify this sensor usability from gaming input device to a diagnostic system for detecting musculoskeletal abnormalities. Next there is an introduction of the Application, which is also a part of this publication. The Application is an easy-use and user-friendly application which is able to use Kinect sensor as a tool that can scan patients' body joints and store them in a database. The Application user is able to view a patient in real-time, store his details in a database and consequently view history of patient's examinations and determine progress of patient's therapy through the use of a set of tools that the Application provides. Thanks to this Application, the user is given a powerful system able to help professionals with diagnosis of patient's musculoskeletal abnormalities.
