Comparison of financial health of selected companies engaged in the construction engineering

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zhodnocení finančního zdraví dvou vybraných společností zabývajících se inženýrským stavitelstvím pomocí metod finanční analýzy. V první části práce bude pozornost zaměřena na teorii finanční analýzy, jakožto nástroje k posouzení finančního zdraví, jejím metodám a ukazatelům. Teoretická část se bude opírat o literaturu, která se zabývá problematikou finanční analýzy. Praktická část bude věnována společnostem Eurovia CS, a. s. a Strabag, a. s. z daného odvětví, které za pomocí volně dostupných informací z účetních výkazů za období 2016-2020 a metod finanční analýzy, které jsou popsány a vysvětleny v teoretické části, budou zhodnoceny. Na základě zhotovené finanční analýzy je možné konstatovat, že obě firmy jsou finančně zdravé a prosperující firmy, avšak finančně stabilnější působí firma Eurovia, která ční ve většině aspektech nad společností Strabag. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty poznatky a vyjádřeny návrhy na pro zlepšení.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the financial health of two selected companies engaged in the engineering construction using methods of financial analysis. The first part of the work will be focused on the theory of financial analysis, as a tool to consider financial health, its methods, and indicators. The theoretical part will be based on the literature, which deals with the issue of financial analysis. The practical part will be devoted to companies Eurovia CS, a. s. and Strabag, a. s. in the industry, which will be evaluated using freely available information from the financial statements for the period 2016-2020 and the methods of financial analysis, which are described and explained in the theoretical part. Based on the financial analysis, it can be stated that both companies are financially healthy and prosperous, but financially more stable is Eurovia, which out bested Strabag in most of the aspects. At the end of the work there are findings and suggestions for improvement.
