The importance of tourism for the labour market in the Vysočina region

Abstract:

Diplomová práce nese název Význam cestovního ruchu pro trh práce v Kraji Vysočina. Jejím cílem je zcharakterizování trhu práce v Kraji Vysočina a zhodnocení role cestovního ruchu pro zaměstnanost a nezaměstnanost ve sledovaném regionu. Analyzován je vývoj zaměstnanosti v Kraji Vysočina od roku 1993 do současnosti s důrazem na vývoj v odvětví cestovního ruchu. Dále jsou v práci vymezena střediska cestovního ruchu nacházející se v Kraji Vysočina, v nichž jsou charakterizovány hlavní změny v zaměstnanosti v odvětví pohostinství a ubytování. Sledován je i vývoj nezaměstnanosti v kraji a ve střediscích cestovního ruchu. Hlavní metodou výzkumu je meziregionální komparativní analýza a analýza časových řad. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do několika kapitol, přičemž začíná úvodem a končí závěrem. Ve druhé kapitole je uvedena metodika a zdroje dat. Třetí kapitola se zabývá teoretickým zakotvením cestovního ruchu. Čtvrtá kapitola je zaměřena na charakteristiku Kraje Vysočina, která obsahuje především dopravní síť, hospodářství a charakteristiku cestovního ruchu. Samotný trh práce je popsán hned ve dvou kapitolách, včetně analýzy volných pracovních míst v Kraji Vysočina a vymezených střediscích cestovního ruchu. Vývoj zaměstnanosti v jednotlivých odvětvích národního hospodářství a v odvětví ubytování a stravování je sledován od roku 1993. Součástí je také vývoj zaměstnanosti a nezaměstnanosti ve vybraných střediscích cestovního ruchu. Poslední kapitola hodnotí význam cestovního ruchu pro trh práce v Kraji Vysočina.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is called "The Significance of Tourism for the Labour Market in the Vysočina region". Its aim is to characterize the labour market in the Vysočina region and to evaluate the tourism's role in employment and unemployment rate in the selected region. The development of employment rate in the Vysočina region from 1993 to present is analysed with an emphasis on the development of tourism industry. Furthermore, the tourist centres located in the Vysočina region are defined and their salient changes in employment rate in the restaurant and accommodation industry are characterized. The development of unemployment in the region and in the tourist centres is observed, too. The main method of the research is an interregional comparative analysis and an analysis of time series. The diploma thesis is divided into several chapters, starting with an introduction and ending with a conclusion. In the second chapter the methodology and the data sources are presented. The third chapter deals with the theoretical definition of tourism. The fourth chapter occupies itself with the characterization of the Vysočina region with the focus on transportation network, economy and the tourism characteristics. The labour market itself is described in two chapters including an analysis of vacancies in the Vysočina region and in the determined tourist centres. The development of employment rate in the particular branches of national economy and in the sector of accommodation and catering services has been observed since 1993. It also involves the development of employment and unemployment rate in the selected tourist centres. The last chapter assesses the significance of tourism for the labour market in the Vysočina region.
