History of the Gendarmerie in the Českolipsko Region in the Years from 1918 to 1938

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl prozkoumat historii četnictva v České Lípě a jejím okolí, od vzniku nové republiky 1918 do obsazení pohraničí v roce 1938. Práce zkoumá dvacet let fungování četnictva v České Lípě, a to nejen pohledem na četnictvo samostatně, ale i v rámci dobového sociálního a ekonomického kontextu. Česká Lípa byla většinově německým městem a z toho vycházely i její problémy při osidlování pohraničí českým obyvatelstvem. Docházelo tak nejen ke stávkám většinové společnosti proti "násilnému počešťování", ale například i k boji proti velké hospodářské krizi, který organizovala stále silnější KSČ. Věnuji se také nelehké době, která předcházela okupaci pohraničí a začlenění České Lípy do sudetoněmeckého území. Všech těchto větších i menších akcí se účastnily místní bezpečnostní složky. Svou prací jsem se pokusil zmapovat jejich život ve vymezeném období.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis aims to explore the history of the gendarmerie in and around České Lípa, in the years between the creation of the new republic of 1918 and the occupation of the frontier in 1938. The work examines twenty years of gendarmerie operation in České Lípa, not only by looking at the gendarmerie on its own, but also within a period of social and economic context. Česká Lípa was a majority German city and its problems in settling the borderlands with the Czech population were based on this. As a result, not only were the majority company's strikes against "forcible conception," but also, for example, the fight against the Great Depression, organized by the increasingly powerful KSČ. It is also dedicated to the difficult time that preceded the occupation of the borderlands and the integration of České Lípa into the Sudetenland. Local security forces participated in all these larger and smaller events. Through my work, I have attempted to map their lives over a defined period.
