Needs of health professionals caring for parents in case of perinatal loss

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce bylo zmapovat prožitky a potřeby porodních asistentek v souvislosti s provázením žen a rodin perinatální ztrátou. Teoretická část popisuje perinatální ztrátu, proces truchlení, perinatální paliativní péči, její vývoj a roli porodní asistentky při jejím poskytování, zdroje zátěže zdravotníků, syndrom vyhoření a potřeby zdravotníků včetně vzdělávání a psychohygieny. Pro naplnění cílů práce byl použit kvalitativní výzkum. Byly provedeny rozhovory se dvěma porodními asistentkami, které mají zkušenosti s poskytováním perinatální paliativní péče. Výsledky ukazují, že organizace perinatální paliativní péče u nás není dostatečná, chybí jednotné doporučené postupy. Výrazně chybí zájem a péče o psychohygienu zdravotníků a podpora týmové spolupráce. Na základě získaných výsledků, prožitků participantek a jejich návrhů byla vypracována doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to explore the experiences and needs of midwives in connection with the care and guidance for women and families experiencing perinatal loss. The theoretical part describes perinatal loss, the mourning process, perinatal palliative care, its development and the role of the midwife in it, sources of burden on health professionals, burnout syndrome and the needs of health professionals, including education and psychohygiene. Qualitative research was used to fulfill the objectives of the work. Interviews were conducted with two midwives who have experience in providing perinatal palliative care. The results show that organization of perinatal palliative care in our country is not sufficient, we lack uniform guidelines. There is a significant lack of interest and care for psychohygiene of health professionals and support for teamwork. Based on the obtained results, experiences of participants and their suggestions, recommendations for practice were developed.
